Aarhus is Jutland’s capital and has more than 300,000 inhabitants. It is the centre of "Greater Aarhus", which has a population of approx. 1.2 mill people. Aarhus is a city of students. Aarhus University is no 63 on the top 100 of the world’s 17,000 universities. Aarhus is a city of business. International businesses have established or expanded their activities. The Port of Aarhus has continuously expanded and is an important container hub to the Baltic sea region. Aarhus is a city of culture. A visionary media library as well as other cultural projects are ready to launch their building phases. Aarhus is a city of renewable energy. The wind power industry has a strong presence in and around Aarhus, and Aarhus wants to be Denmark’s number one energy city. The city wants to be CO2 neutral by 2030. Aarhus is a city of development. Over the next 20 years the city must continue to grow – 75,000 new inhabitants, 20,000 new homes, 50,000 new jobs and 10,000 extra students.

CLEAN is appointed to be Denmark’s environmental cluster and our vision is clear: Danish companies shall be world leading within the cleantech sector. We are the innovation room for those who develop clean-tech solutions and for those who need a solution. CLEAN is a facilitator of high-value cooperation between parties, by bringing members closer to markets, customers and peers. As a nonprofit entity, CLEAN does not directly “close deals” and negotiate commercial contracts, rather we create collaborations that ultimately lead to deals being closed and solutions being implemented. We work closely with the Danish environmental ecosystem consisting of companies, knowledge institutions, public actors and others such as industry associations, financial actors and different innovation and business promotion actors.

Aarhus Vand is a Danish public limited company owned by Aarhus Municipality. Our mission is to offer and develop resource-efficient services throughout the entire water cycle, creating a climate-adapted, sound environment, growth and export, all of which will be of benefit to customers and stakeholders. We produces more than 15 million cubic metres per year of great tasting drinking water. We have 19 well fields, approx. 100 abstraction wells, 9 waterworks, 10 elevation tanks plus a 1,500-kilometre transmission system. To measure it, we have installed 80,000 meters.
