Tech Tour Europe S.A. and its affiliated companies and subsidiary Tech Tour Global EOOD (“Tech Tour”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) are committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who visit our websites (techtour.com, Iventureclub.com, Investhorizon.eu and eurekainnovest.eu ) or use our services (collectively “Services”). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how we collect, use, and share Personal Data about users of our Services (“users”, “you”, or “your”). If you are located in the European Economic Area (“EEA”) or the United Kingdom (“UK”), “Personal Data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.

In some cases, provision of your Personal Data may be necessary to provide you with our Services. In these cases, if you fail to provide certain Personal Data when requested, we may not be able to give you access to our Services. Where required by applicable law, we indicate whether and why you must provide us with your Personal Data, as well as the consequences of failing to do so.

 

A. PERSONAL DATA YOU PROVIDE TO US

 

Registration Information and Account Information. If you sign up for a Tech Tour account or register for an event, we collect Personal Data related to the creation of your account and the usage of our Services via this account. We will ask you to provide your username, and to choose a password. We will also collect information about your title, first and last name , company/organization name, your role, biography, and any additional information about yourself, that you would choose to submit.

 

Event related information. We also collect Personal Data included in a description of your experience that you may share with us to be communicated in the framework of an event, or in a call for application that we may display on the online platform for matchmaking with other Tech Tour members.

 

Communications. If you contact us directly, we may receive Personal Data about you, such as your email address, name, the contents of the message and any other Personal Data you choose to provide.

 

Newsletter. If you sign up to receive emails or information about our Services or related Services provided by our partners and sponsors, we will collect Personal Data from you, such as your first and last name, email address, company/organization name, and whether you are a Tech Tour member.

We use your Personal Data for the following purposes:

2.1 Providing, developing and improving our Services.

We use your data to manage events, such as the Tech Tour events, to help entrepreneurs present their business case and to find partners and to promote entrepreneurs. We also use your data to develop and improve our Services, including developing new features, research, and to provide member support.

 

In particular, we use your data to:

  • manage events with targeted participants to facilitate participants to meet, share information and develop relationships with partners of their interest ;
  • select and screen for event participation;
  • offer better Services. We organize an application and selection process and the information that users fill in, as well as information about nominated and selected companies, award winners and expert reviews, are shared among some other community members;
  • manage our online platform, i.e., to provide and facilitate online collaboration between community members by enabling community members to share information about their personal expertise, the organizations they are linked to and what they (or the organizations they are linked to) are looking for when collaborating with other community members;
  • share news and updates via the online community platform, view information and updates about other community members, industry trends, event award winners and expert reviews;
  • provide matching to other members;
  • provide search tools to community members;
  • manage our records;
  • manage your membership regarding our Services;
  • ensure that content from our websites is presented in the most effective manner ;
  • verify your identity;
  • respond to any query you may raise with us, and to process your request and provide you with the best Service possible;
  • carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us;
  • allow you to participate in interactive features of our Services;
  • notify you about changes to our Services, changes to our terms, conditions, and policies and/or other administrative information;
  • prevent or detect any misuse or fraud;
  • administer business operations such as invoicing.

We use Personal Data to develop aggregate analysis and business intelligence that enable us to operate, protect, make informed decisions, and report on the performance of our business.

 

Some of our Services, such as our events, may be co-branded and/or co-sponsored. You hereby acknowledge that we may share your information, including the above listed Personal Data, with our cooperating partners and our sponsors for communications and marketing purposes.

We use the data we collect to deliver and personalise our communications with you. We enable communications between you and others through our Services, including invitations for meetings and messages.

2.3 Statistical purposes and aggregated insights

For example, we may use data to generate statistics about number of users, event participants, geographical breakdown, expertise and other, the number of ad impressions served or clicked on, or the demographic distribution of visitors to a site.

 

We may use such aggregated statistics for marketing purposes (see section 2.2 above).

 

2.4 Online advertising

 

We do not deliver third party online advertisements on our web sites but we advertise our Services on others' websites, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and others. It is Tech Tour’s intention that all partners and sponsors which get access to data collected by Tech Tour are GDPR compliant. However, other web site operators' or network advertisers' privacy statements and practices relating to advertising, including what type of information they may collect about your internet usage, might be different from Tech Tour’s.

 

We have also engaged with certain third parties to manage some of our advertising on other sites. These third parties may use Cookies to collect information (such as your IP address) about your activities on our website and other websites to provide you with targeted Tech Tour advertisements based upon your interests.

 

2.5 Providing customer support

 

In order to provide you with a better experience, we conduct research by collecting data, including public feedback. The data is analysed and used for further development of our Services, to drive membership growth, to increase engagement on our Services, and to help connect users to each other and thereby grow their business.
