Gold Partners
The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) is a unique public private partnership supporting research, technological development and demonstration activities in fuel cell and hydrogen energy technologies in Europe. Its aim is to accelerate the market introduction of these technologies, realising their potential as an instrument in achieving a carbon-clean energy system. The FCH JU’s has pioneered new developments in FCH technology and brought many of them to the cusp of commercialisation. Market uptake from public authorities, major companies and citizens alike has boosted confidence in these clean technologies, establishing hydrogen as a cornerstone of Europe’s energy transition. The FCH JU has also been instrumental in supporting and forging synergies amongst innovative European SMEs and start-ups, whose productivity and competitiveness benefit all. The leverage effect has been very important – with public money triggering additional private investment. The members of the FCH JU are the European Commission, the industry represented by Hydrogen Europe and the research community represented by Hydrogen Europe Research.
