All people that believe that the only great things Russia is exporting are vodka and caviar may be in for a surprise in the coming years. I was positively impressed by the aptitude of Russian technology companies to export their technology, and set up shop outside their home territory.

Among the companies presenting at the Russian TT there were top notch investment opportunities, in both TLcom areas of expertise: telecommunications and material sciences. The companies definitely need a lot of help to become real investment opportunities, but this additional work is compensated by the lower VC competition and the world class intellectual property, coupled with the (highly skilled) low labor cost. Furthermore, the venues for the presentations and the cultural programs were superb, transmitting a strong image of today's Russia.
