Tech Tour and the International Venture Club today put out an open call to innovative Medtech and Digital Health companies to apply to present their business at the 2016 Healthtech Summit. The event takes place in Lausanne on June 21-22 and will bring together leading European and US investors, Corporates and Industry Advisors in the industry.

Companies seeking investment are encouraged to apply to present to top European and US investors. The 7th edition of the Healthtech Summit will feature the top 20 Digital Health companies and the top 20 Medtech companies in Europe. Thom Rasche, Partner at Earlybird Venture Capital will lead the Medtech sub-committee and Marc Sluijs at Digital Health.network will lead the Digital Health sub-committee.

Over the 6 previous editions of the Healthtech Summit the expert selection committees have reviewed over 700 innovative companies in the healthtech space and selected 145 to present. Together those 145 companies have successfully raised $485M in investments, after presenting at the event.

The Healthtech Summit 2015 brought the Digital Health sector firmly into focus attracting Life Science and Healthtech companies like Boston Scientific, Johnson & Johnson, Logitech, Merck, Nestle, Novartis, Roche and Sanofi as well as a number partners like Health 2.0, Health XL and Startup Health and Healthware International, organisations focused on this rising sector. The Digital health market in the US continues to grow with funding to digital health startups up 36% quarter on quarter in 2015.¹

The event has strong support from the Medtech sector too with partners like AAL, Cukierman & Co. Life Sciences and Global Corporate Venturing involved in the 6th edition of the Summit.

As part of the process applicants will submit a corporate presentation together with the registration form. The deadline for applications is April 10.  

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed on the uniqueness of their technology, the strength of their business model, vision, and capability to execute on the business plan and the quality and track record of their management. Submissions will be reviewed by the selection committees, which are comprised of senior business leaders from various backgrounds including venture capital, technology, research and economic promotion.

Rewards for Finalists

The 40 selected finalists will each have an opportunity to present their business plans to senior investors from global venture capital and private equity funds, and executives from the life sciences industry, as well as academics. In addition, they will benefit from networking opportunities, local and international media exposure and potential opportunities to secure funding.
