The city hosting the 2019 edition of the Italian Healthcare Venture Forum and Meet in Italy for Life Sciences is Trieste, capital of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region.

Also known as the “little Vienna on the sea”, Trieste is a cultural crossroads that has always been considered a meeting point between West and East on account of its geographical position.

Situated on a narrow strip of land, Trieste is also the sea. A sea that seeps in among the houses and one of the most important and lively ports in Italy. A sea that takes on a special meaning for the city, for its citizens and for all sea lovers during the Barcolana, a regatta held in October each year and that counted over 2,600 participating boats in 2018.

Starting from piazza dell’Unità, among the most suggestive and largest squares of those opening onto the sea, Trieste offers its visitors a series of major attractions: from the Audace Pier to the Castle of Saint Giusto, from The Victory Lighthouse to the Roman Theatre, to enjoy the city, its cafés, and its shops.
